Hiendley Parish Council held at Havercroft & Ryhill Community Centre on Thursday,
17th October at 7.00 p.m.

Minute 44 Declarations of Interest
Cllr Rusling
declared an interest in Agenda Item No. 8 Pest Control on the allotments, and
completed the necessary Declaration of Interest Form
Minute 45 To Approve the minutes of the
meeting held on 19th September 2024
The minutes of the
meeting held on 19th September 2024 were approved.
Minute 46 Public Representations
There were no public representations
Minute 47 District Councillor’s Report
Cllr
Heptinstall updated the meeting regarding the overgrown footpath Henry Avenue,
the cutting that had be discarded on PC land has now been removed. Cllr
Stockhill had reported some concerns around the mental health of a resident, if
anyone has concerns, Social Care Direct should be contacted.
Cllr Ali
updated on the campaign to get better bus services in the area, the issue has
been raised by Ryhill PC and Crofton PC.
Cllr Cummings
thanked the Clerk for her assistance on the resolve of the overgrown footpath
Bushwood. Also updated on the recent
PACT meeting and the concerns around Ryhill Cemetery. The Cemetery gates are now locked dusk to
dawn to see if this stops the recent spate of thefts from graves. One Road
works issue was also reported along Cow Lane, replacement manhole cover.
Action:
Social Care Direct 0345 8 503 503 a 24/7 service.
Minute 48 Finance and IT
Payments and the report from the
External Auditor will be discussed at the November meeting
Minute 49 Havercroft & Ryhill Learning Centre
This item to be deferred to the
November meeting when the Clerk returns.
Minute 50 Allotments
I.
Pest
Control is required on both allotment sites, Wimpys and Brier Lane. The work will be undertaken by Rusling &
Sons. It is understood that the
recognised use of an air rifle to undertake pest control this is to be checked
before commencement.
II.
Plot 5
Brier Lane have requested to put fencing round.
III.
Plot 12
Brier Lane has had 20 tyres discarded on it, a discussion around how these
could be disposed of.
Action:
a) Plot 5 the request for fencing was approved, a letter to be sent to
the applicant outlining that the installation of the fence cost is their
responsibility and that ongoing maintenance is also theirs.
b) The acting clerk to find out
the best way to dispose of the discarded tyres on Plot 12
Minute 51 Open Spaces and Green Spaces
i)
Cllr M
Cooper to lay the Remembrance Wreath at Ryhill Cenotaph
ii)
Cllr M
Beecher to lay the Remembrance Wreath at the top of The Green
Path Clearance
and tree maintenance to commence by the end of October.
Action
a)
the Clerk to confirm that the wreaths have been
ordered and where/when they will be delivered.
b)
Cllr M Cooper to obtain quote for the path/tree
maintenance and present to the next meeting.
c)
Cllr Rusling to visit the owners of the hedgerow
to obtain written permission to do the maintenance work.

occupants of Plot 5 Brier Lane, see minute 50
