Hiendley Parish Council held at Havery & Ryhill Community Learning Centre
on Wednesday 12th June at 7.00 p.m.

Minute 18 Declarations of Interest
Cllrs Lowe and
Stockhill declared an interest in Item No. 8
Minute 19 To Approve the minutes of the meetings
held in May 2024
The minutes of
the AGM 8th May 2024 were approved
The minutes of
the EGM on 23rd May 2024 were approved
Minute 20 Public Representations
There were no public representations.
Minute 21 District Councillor’s Report
i)
Markings
have been made for the bollards to be installed at Bethan Court
ii)
The path
with the A-Frame belongs to the Parish Council, not WMDC
iii)
The speed
limit at Church Lane crossroads between Wakefield & Barnsley will become 40
mph.
iv)
The zebra
crossing by the hairdressers still has people parking so the District
councillors will apply for double yellow lines.
Minute 22 Finance and IT
i)
The Annual Internal Audit Report was presented
to the Council and was noted.
ii)
Resolved to approve the Annual Governance
Statement (AGAR).
iii)
Resolved to approve the Accounting Statement.
v)
All
payments were approved including T&D annual invoice and the purchase of a
new laptop.
Minute 23 Havercroft & Ryhill Learning Centre
i)
Various
repairs and renewals were discussed, including the drains and installing new loo
roll dispensers. It was suggested that
councillors meet with Faith Heptinstall (Centre manager) to discuss the way
forward.
ii)
The Clerk
was asked to source a building inspector/surveyor as previous attempts have
proved unsuccessful.
Minute 24 Allotments
Brier Lane: Plots 1 & 12 need extensive clearance, it
was decided that the Parish Council would adopt the plots to be used as
community allotments.
Plot X to be served with an eviction
notice as no lease has been signed nor has annual payment been made.
Plot 4 will be cleared so it is suitable
to be leased.
The path from the small gate needs
clearing and the possibility of a container being sited near the entrance, was
discussed.
It was agreed to change the code on
the allotment gates.
Cllr Rusling was asked to deal with
the vermin.
Minute 25 Open Spaces and Green Spaces
The headmaster from the local school
has emailed to request that the brambles are trimmed near the school. Parish councillors offered to survey the site
and discuss at the next meeting.
Cllr Stockhill will obtain another
quote for the work to be done at the top of the Green, in addition to Cllr
Cooper’s quote of £3500.
The new bench has been installed.
No further action has been taken on
the hole on the path near the Railway Cutting.
Martin Shaw will be asked to remove
the A Frame and the clerk will obtain a quote for clearing the path.
The meeting closed at 8.50pm
