Meeting Minutes

Minutes of the Meeting of Havercroft-with-Cold
Hiendley Parish Council held at Havercroft & Ryhill Community Centre on Wednesday,
8th January 2025 at 7.00 p.m.

Present: Councillors M Cooper (Chair), M Beecher, Y Lowe, C Rawlings, Clerk and
District Councillor Heptinstall, plus four members of the public

Apologies:  Cllr M Rusling

 

Minute 68           Declarations of Interest

Cllr Lowe
declared an interest in Item 8.

Minute 69           To Approve the minutes of the meeting held on 11th
December 2024

The minutes of the
meeting held on 11th December 2024 were approved.

Minute 70           Public Representations

Two residents attended the meeting 7pm
to explain that Tup Lane had not been blocked but that they would be fencing
off a private field in the near future, they left the meeting at 7.30pm.

At 8pm, another two residents
attended the meeting to ask about the field and the top of Tup Lane, they were
re-assured that the lane will not be blocked and advised what action, could be
taken to ensure public green spaces remain available.

Minute 71           District Councillor’s Report

District
Councillor Heptinstall attended the meeting to give the following update:

i)
WMDC Highways have agreed to look at possibly
installing signalling at the crossroads near the bottom of the Green but the
process may take up to 2 years.

ii)
A resident has reported overhanging branches on
Brier Lane near the old bridge, Streetscene have been informed.

iii)
White lining will be re-done on the way to Cold
Hiendley.

iv)
It was reported to Cllr Heptinstall that the
snow plow didn’t clear the snow on Brier Lane during the recent wintery
weather.

v)
The bus schedule has been reduced even further,
Cllr Ali to look into.

vi)
The bollards at the top of the Green have been
repaired (as reported by Cllr Beecher previously).

Minute 72           Finance and IT

i)
The
insurance payment was approved in addition to the hanging baskets for 2025.

 

Minute 73           Havercroft & Ryhill Community Learning Centre

The Chair and Clerk will meet with
the centre manager to discuss working together to improve the facility for
residents to continue to enjoy. Parish councillors will be updated at the next
meeting.

 

Minute 74           Allotments

It was agreed that Plot 1 on Wimpey
Allotments would remain in small sections and leased out accordingly.

 

Minute 75           Open Spaces & Green Spaces

The overgrown paths will be walked
and a contractor engaged to clear them before the February deadline (due to
nesting season) as a matter of urgency.

Two quotes will be obtained to
maintain the grass around the flag pole.
