Minutes of the meeting of Havercroft-with-Cold Hiendley Parish Council held in Havercroft and Ryhill Community Learning Centre on Wednesday 12 April 2017 at 7.00 pm.

Matters raised by Members of the Public
Problems regarding the parking of vehicles outside the Post Office and in particular vehicles parking on the pedestrian crossing and the white zig zag lines.
Problems with off road bikers with no helmets on the highway particularly on Cow Lane.

Presentation by Inspector H Brier West Yorkshire Police
Inspector Brier gave information on her background and what she had been doing since she was Neighbourhood Inspector in 2012.
A report was presented on the crime within the Parish of Havercroft giving details where these particular crimes had occurred.
She reported that off road bikers were a problem but when apprehended bikes were being confiscated. Cyber-crime was becoming a problem in relation to I Pads I Phones etc. A day of action is being planned involving the Fire Service, Police, Schools, Sports Centre and WDH. An event in Thornes Park on the 17 June is in memory of Jo Cox MP with a wide range of activities available including football, arts and Crafts Bouncy Castle etc. followed by a free meal and drink and entertainment the event is from 5.00pm to 11.30 pm
A Police Open Day is being held at the new headquarters on Sunday 9 July 2017.
The incident at Rycroft Leisure was reported informing what action had been taken particularly by the ABA.

The minutes of the monthly meeting held on the 8 March 2017 were moved by Councillor Mrs C Saul and seconded by Councillor E Brown and were confirmed as a correct record.

The accounts for March 2017 in the sum of £9,304.62 were presented to members and moved by Councillor J Shaw and seconded by Councillor E Brown and confirmed as a correct record.
Minute 5. Casual Vacancy
Following the death of Councillor D Williamson a Casual Vacancy is required to be filled and the appropriate information for the vacancy will be advertised by Wakefield Council.
The Chairman Councillor A Manifield had to leave the meeting, Councillor Mrs Cheryl Saul took the Chair for the remainder of the meeting.

Yorkshire Water. Disconnection of water to the Wimpey allotment site.
A quotation from Yorkshire Water is awaited for the disconnection charges.
Minute 7. Planning
No planning applications or determinations.
Minute 8. Havercroft and Ryhill Community Learning Centre
The Fun Day will be on the10th August from 11.00a.m to 3.00pm.
Kids Kitchen is to be held every Tuesday in August 2017 with meals and entertainment, this event open to all parents in Havercroft and Ryhill

Minute 12. Havercroft Pond
Work on Havercroft Pond has now been completed, the pond is filling up and the banks are regenerating with reeds. Wildlife, ducks and fish are on and in the pond. Repairs to the fencing near the car park has been authorised and will be carried out shortly by a fencing contractor.
Minute 13. Bush Wood
A lease has been drawn up allowing a smallholder to lease a field in Bush Wood for agricultural use on an annual basis for a lease payment of £500. The lease has been signed by the Chairman and is now awaiting the smallholder’s signature.
Minute 14. Allotments
The Clerk has met with a contractor to look at stopping the flooding of allotments on the Brier Lane allotment site. The work will be carried out as soon as is practicable
All rents for the Wimpey allotments have been received.
